Save Cantonese
Purpose: Save Cantonese is a global community-driven movement that promotes Cantonese language
and cultural preservation. Our organization is committed to sustaining the Cantonese language,
supporting courses at universities and ensuring access in everyday society. ‘Team Cantonese’ came
together as a group of passionate alumni, students, and community members, aiming to keep
Cantonese language instruction alive in higher education institutions.
Purpose: Turtle Learn aims to make Cantonese language learning more enjoyable and accessible for children. We believe that learning should be a collaborative effort between teachers, parents, and students. Through our technology-driven platform, we create a community that is accessible to everyone, regardless of their background or social status. Our ultimate goal is to make Cantonese pedagogy more accessible to children from diverse backgrounds, enabling them to develop the valuable skill of speaking Cantonese.
Cantonese Creators Collective - Creators & Educators for Heritage Education
Purpose: We’re a network of creatives, content creators, and educators reimagining how
Cantonese language and heritage education can be delivered in innovative and engaging ways ✨
There is a desire for many overseas Cantonese speakers to reconnect with their language, since
language can have deep ties to culture and heritage. Yet Cantonese language learners often
face the challenge of extremely limited language resources. But there’s hope! ✨ We’re a
growing community of creators and educators that recognize this need for educational content
that helps support Cantonese language or heritage learners. Values and Mission: Kind
Collaboration: Our community aims to foster connection and collaboration among creators and
educators who want to help create and add to a growing library and collection of Cantonese
heritage and language resources.
Purpose: To collect and streamline multimodal tools and resources (integrating visual, tactile, kinaesthetic elements) for world language/dialect access, transcription (by ear), teaching and learning, maximising: 1) the speed of immediate accurate speech connection, 2) access for a range of diverse learners in any group, and 3) speed of intuitive, embodied absorption, for ‘non-learners’, as well as heritage- and ethnically diverse learners. Current reach: Words and phrases in 30+ languages and dialects, which all started with Cantonese
Purpose: Chatty Cantonese | 粵語白白講 is a regular podcast hosted by Raymond Pai and Cameron White, two academics invested in the teaching and study of the Cantonese language. Purpose: Fun and quirky learning materials and games created by a mom + son team, focusing on Cantonese and Chinese learning, promoting Hong Kong and Chinese culture, and advocating for Asians around the world!
Purpose: To promote Chinese Children's book reading to overseas Asian families, encourage family reading to build stronger bonding between parents and children, provide online learning materials, Cantonese classes and events to preserve Cantonese cultures.
Purpose: Duck Duck Books is a MWBE certified publisher of multilingual board books and designer of eco goods for children. We create sustainable products that introduce language learning, cultivate emotional intelligence, and instill eco-conscious lifestyles.
Purpose: At Merit Chinese School, we're dedicated to helping your child learning Chinese. Our mission is to provide an opportunity for children to learn Chinese language and to understand their cultural heritage. The curriculum emphasizes reading and writing skills, listening and conversation, as well as moral education.
